Abstract: This talk reviews the speaker's personal journey from a novice in postgraduate recommendation to becoming a recipient of the CCF Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award. The growth path is analyzed by addressing four key questions: how to overcome initial difficulties by finding enjoyment in the learning process itself; how to transform experimental failures into valuable insights, inspired by On Practice, leading to the completion of a first paper; how to establish a "research base" and employ goal-driven approaches to achieve focus and sustained output in a research direction; and how to engage deeply with real-world scenarios to find genuine significance for scientific research.
