Xu Chen is a Full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University, and Deputy Director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, with selection for National and Guangdong provincial talent programs. He obtained his PhD in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Arizona State University in the US and an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Goettingen in Germany. He has presided over a number of key and major projects including the Joint Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangdong Provincial Innovation Team Program, and has been honored with titles such as IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, the Hong Kong Young Scientist Award, and Runner-up of the IEEE Computer Society Annual Best Paper Award. He warmly welcomes research collaborations and applications from outstanding prospective students in the fields of multi-agents, agentic AI systems, on-device AI, cloud-edge-end AI computing, multimodal large models and AI4Energy.
