Shenzhen Loop Area Institute Signs Cooperation Agreements with Multiple Hong Kong Universities, Achieving Full Strategic Cooperation Coverage with Participating Institutions
Amidst a wave of global technological transformation and deepening regional integration, higher education is becoming a key driver for industrial upgrading and collaborative scientific innovation. Recently, the formal signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Shenzhen Loop Area Institute and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University marks the Institute's completion of strategic agreements with all participating and collaborating universities from Hong Kong. This collectively establishes a comprehensive Shenzhen-Hong Kong higher education collaborative innovation network.

According to the agreements, both sides will leverage the complementary strengths of Shenzhen and Hong Kong in technology and education. They will engage in systematic cooperation in areas such as joint research initiatives, high-end talent cultivation, and the translation of academic achievements.
In recent years, driven jointly by the Ministry of Education and Guangdong Province, higher education collaboration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has continued to deepen. As a national strategic platform, the Hetao Cooperation Zone has attracted the clustering of research resources from multiple Hong Kong universities, gradually forming an open, collaborative, and mutually beneficial innovation ecosystem.

The Shenzhen Loop Area Institute has formally established strategic partnerships with the six participating Hong Kong universities: City University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). This layout signifies a key phased achievement for the Institute in promoting Shenzhen-Hong Kong university collaboration. It lays a solid foundation for subsequent in-depth cross-border integration and substantive co-development.
The participating Hong Kong universities possess profound expertise in fundamental research and frontier fields, while Shenzhen boasts a complete industrial chain and efficient capabilities for translating research into applications. Serving as a nexus, the Shenzhen Loop Area Institute will promote precise alignment between educational resources and industrial needs. It will facilitate the efficient flow of innovative elements such as talent, technology, and capital between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
