Program Overview
The Shenzhen Loop Area Institute (SLAI) is proud to announce its International Summer Research Program. This program serves as a vital pathway for prospective Ph.D. candidates to engage directly with our faculty, demonstrate their research capabilities, and secure early admission opportunities.
Moving beyond traditional classroom lectures, this summer program is entirely research-driven. Participants will be integrated into the dynamic research groups at SLAI, working directly under the guidance of our Principal Investigators (PIs) and experienced researchers.

Ph.D. Admission Pathway
Outstanding participants will have the unique opportunity to undergo early-stage evaluations and interviews for 2027 Fall admission.
Program Dates
Core Duration: July 13 – August 9, 2026
4-week intensive research program with full immersion in SLAI research groups.
Optional Extension: Up to August 16, 2026
An additional 1-week extension is available upon mutual agreement between the student and the host supervisor, for those who require further time to complete their ongoing research projects.

Eligibility Criteria
International undergraduate students (usually in their junior year) or master's students.
Strong academic background with a clear intention to pursue the 2027 FALL SLAI Joint Ph.D. Program.
Demonstrated passion for scientific research, with relevant academic or laboratory experience preferred.
Proficiency in English (the working language of the laboratories and the institute).
Visa & Administrative Support
To facilitate international travel, SLAI will issue official Invitation Letters to all admitted participants. This document will fully support your application for an F-Visa (Non-commercial Visit Visa) at your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate.
